The Microphone Tool Will Not Start

If nothing happens after you press Start:
- check your browser’s site permissions

- confirm that your microphone is not muted

If the Vocal Range Calculator or Singing Voice Test reports a narrower range than expected, first make sure the tool is actually detecting your low and high notes consistently.

- the microphone had difficulty capturing very low or high frequencies
- background noise interfered with detection
- you stopped before testing your full comfortable range
- the voice was not warmed up in the same way as during previous tests
Test only notes that you can produce comfortably and repeatedly.
Do not force extreme low or high notes simply to increase your result.

A voice-type result is an interpretation of measured information, not a complete professional classification.
The Voice Type Test may use detected range and other measurable information as a reference, but professional voice classification can also consider:
- tessitura
- register transitions
- timbre
- vocal weight
- comfort
- technique
- singing context
If your online result differs from the classification you normally use, that does not necessarily mean either result is automatically wrong.

My Result Changes From One Test to Another
Some variation is normal.
Voice and pitch measurements can change because of:
- different warm-up conditions
- fatigue
- technique
- microphone position
- room acoustics
- browser/device differences
- pitch stability
- which notes you attempt
Try repeating the same test under similar conditions before comparing results.
Very Low Notes Are Not Detected Reliably

- compare the result on another device if possible
